Summer ActivitiesBreathtaking experiences by day and relaxing hospitality by night.
German Gulch Hiking Trail German Gulch is a moderate hike with the trail head located just a short way from the resort. The trail has very light use but is in good condition. There are brand new bridges across all creeks. The trail is about 3 hours round trip, but can be made any length by those walking it. Depending on how far one walks in, it is the same coming back. If one is willing to walk this trail, there are many scenic opportunities to be encountered. Access: Trail head is about 2 miles from resort. Leave Fairmont by turning Right from the parking lot onto Fairmont Rd. Cross both sets of railroad tracks as well as Silver Bow Creek. Head up the small hill and make a Right at a small group of mailboxes. Continue down this dirt road until you reach a green gate. Pass through this gate (Please Close It Behind You) and continue for a small distance. You will see a new green bridge and a small parking area. This is the beginning of the trail head. Walk across the bridge and this is the where the trail starts. If you ever feel like you are getting lost, be on the lookout for pink ribbons and eventually piles of rocks, as well as know that the trail parallels German Gulch creek for the entire length. Have fun and don’t forget to take some pictures! For more information and other available summer activities, festivals, museums, shopping and more please download a copy of our Activities Guide.
